The crusading movement covers about 500 years of European history; the idea affected all social groups in Europe and became an element knightly culture. This article highlights two main turning points history movement: Fourth Crusade conquest Constantinople 1204 end Latin Kingdom Jerusalem 1291. These events lead to rethinking goals, objectives, directions expanding its geography. crusades Late Middle Ages were generally more local, purposeful, pragmatic, prudent, professional, less emotional than campaigns 1096–1291. development forced Europeans look for explanations justifications their deeds. led creation legends ancestors East. Trojan origin Latins revenge schismatic Greeks important twelfth- thirteenth-­century literature. With growing Turkish threat, Frankish Turks appeared. Trojans Aeneas replaced by Turks, sixteenth century Druze people, who considered descendants first crusaders survived Holy Land. From fourteenth century, plans new concerning a nutritious cultural environment preserving idea. demonstration piety zeal contributed achievement socio-­cultural political goals kings knights. Through historical memory crusaders, illusions rhetoric return Land or Constantinople, myths legends, gradually passed from real wars into moral category becomes psycho-­cultural phenomenon intellectual elite society.
